I think this sort of still IS year 2, at least in any functional sense. NOTHING in the current game is labeled year 3 as far as I'm aware, we're still using the year 2 infusion system (well, with some mid-year tweaks), and there's been no line in the sand drawn between Taken King gear (plenty of which is still dropping) and Rise of Iron gear.

To put it in Apple terms, stop thinking of this as year 3, and instead think of it as year 2+. Regardless of how much time has actually passed since launch.

Yeah, I did it to check. I only did the one because once I saw that it decrypted to 170 Light, it seemed like it's still using the Year One loot table.

It would seem that Legacy Engrams still decode entirely as Year One entities.
