So when was the official start of Destiny 2 production?

The auto unions tend to set things up so that they are ready to strike prior to the start of negotiations. That is held as a threat during the talks, but they won't pull the trigger unless talks break down.

This announcement probably is the same preparatory statement.

On the organization's website, a post claims that union heads will be meeting this week to negotiate contracts "rooted in industry standards and best practices," and that, "unless you hear differently from us, effective Oct. 21 at 12:01 a.m., you should be prepared to strike the following video game employers with regard to all games that went into production after Feb. 17, 2015:

Activision Publishing, Inc.
Blindlight, LLC
Corps of Discovery Films
Disney Character Voices, Inc.
Electronic Arts Productions, Inc.
Formosa Interactive, LLC
Insomniac Games, Inc.
Interactive Associates, Inc.

So when was the official start of Destiny 2 production? How do they define production? Does that include any work on the game, or the start of Voice work? One could probably argue that the Destiny 2 story boards, concept art, etc went into production before Destiny 1 ever shipped.
