That's still only two chances per character every 4 weeks for VoG Adept weapons.

I'm excited to get all of them just to have a selection of max-light elemental primaries. Guns like Word of Crota or Abyss Defiant can be loads of fun with elemental burns in place. Plus it might actually make the King's Fall primaries worth using :)

The guy said you had to complete the challenges for 'a chance' at the adept versions. I mean, he might have just been incompetent, but that sounds like time-gated RNG.

Man, I hope not. The only way I *might* be ok with that is if the specific weapons are not tied to a specific challenge. In other words, if each VoG challenge has a chance to drop any and all of the VoG Adept weapons, that's not so bad. But if each weapon is tied to a specific challenge, AND is dependent on RNG... who am I kidding, that sounds exactly like Destiny. :(

I haven't seen it stated either way. You do have to complete the challenges to get the adept exotic versions. Whether or not it's RNG is up in the air.

As soon as they mentioned adept versions of raid weapons I lost most of my interest in the update. Then when they mentioned that those versions only have a chance to drop while completing the challenge modes I checked out completely.

I get that Black Hammer was perhaps too good to be a legendary weapon, even after they nerfed it. But this update is supposed to be the last celebration of Destiny before we move into D2... there are no new challenges coming in the future of this game, so why not just let us have fun the way we used to for old time's sake? Running the dreaded Fatebringer/Black Hammer/Gjallarhorn combo was my favorite thing to do in Year 1 PvE. It's CRAZY powerful, but is now really the time to get hung up on PvE balance?

I'm... actually kind of looking forward to this. VoC was always my favorite (fight me).

The bad news is that there will still be 30 new items to collect, so I'll have to sacrifice another set from year one.

I'm thinking it'll be the Year One Trials Gear on the chopping block; at least that way all my armor will be LL 400.

Looks like the Year One Trials and Year One Prison weapons will survive until Des2iny, though.
