[MARATHON 2026] One-week-in thoughts? (Gaming)

They have been so secretive about Cryo/Marathon I don't know how to evaluate that.

For Outpost, I am already past the level required and I think I have good enough gear to hang for a while. The problem with Outpost is not time investment/casual but rather that I have mostly been playing Solo. I am going to try, but other than maybe scavenging as a Rook I don't know how successful I will be in Outpost. I'll have to see. In theory, if I solo queue into Outpost it will be other solos so it's even footing, but I think as a solo your skill level is more determinative and so I wonder if I won't be able to play at that level given Outpost draws the better players with its better loot. The other issue is that a lot of Outpost involves collecting keys and then fighting UESC at a chokepoint and that is not AFAIK adjusted in any way for solo queue. The best ingress for solo was just patched out (temporarily, they say) so I will see what the replacement version of that looks like.

Just today I did a run on Outpost with what I'd describe as a blue kit and yes I had to take out 3 other runners in the process, managed to fight my way into the pinwheel, activate the command wing, take out the boss, take out the contract specific extra boss, and exfil, solo.

Mind you, I'm insanely obsessive about not taking anything out of my vault, if I die, free kit, zero to hero. So I'm basically forcing myself to develop insane survival instincts. If I hear someone and they're above me or in an advantageous spot, I BOOK IT THE F OUT OF THERE.

Oh and I'm a thief main.
